My memories are primarily as children and not as Howard but as Doug. As my only male cousin he and I spent many a night at our grandparents, at one another's house, and on vacation together. Trouble seemed to follow us when we were together. Unfortunately it often ended in stitches for one of us. How our parents put up with I'll never understand. While Doug and I have only talked once in several years and not seen each other since we were young men it does not lessen my sadness at the thought of his death.
I wish to extend my most sincere condolences to Bev, his children and grandkids.

Howard and Beverly joined W.O.W Dog Rescue and fostered small dogs for us. The last dog they fostered was Paige. Out of fear, Paige was a runner and a snippy girl at the beginning, but they held in there with her. Once she felt safe, she settled in great. Beverly wanted to adopt Paige, but Howard reminded her of how they liked to travel and having 3 dogs might be too many. The love of his life, Beverly, had a huge surprise coming to her...Howard contacted me and did the adoption secretly for her, and on Christmas he handed her the adoption packet for Paige. THATS THE CARING HOWARD I KNOW! He will be missed by many!!

Howard was such a kind and caring man, and LOVED his bride...Beverly. My fondest memory of him was when they fostered for W.O.W dog rescue and they both fell in love with Paige. She was NOT an easy dog at first. A runner and scared of everything...and didn't make up to most people well. Paige learned to love them and felt safe. Beverly really wanted to adopt Paige, but Howard wasn't sure if they would be traveling more and another dog wasn't in his plans. so he told her no several times... HOWEVER, this wonderful man knew what Beverly wanted, so he "sneakingly" adopted Paige at my home, and gave Bev the adoption papers for Christmas! THATS A MAN WITH A HUGE HEART!! Love and will miss him.

My favorite memory (memories) with my grandpa was back when I was 15 or 16, so about 10 years ago. My grandparents and myself took our dogs to training classes. My grandma had Abby, grandpa had Pugsley and I had Emmett. We went to these classes every week. And every week we would compare our progress and talk about how well the dogs did. On a side note there was a trapeze school right next to the training school. And he would always joke with me that I should go to that school and join the circus. There's so many more memories I have with my grandpa and all of them are great. I will carry them with me forever. And don't be shy to ask me about them I will gladly talk about him all the time. He was that great of a man. I love you forever grandpa!
