Elaine Adams, Sister, Beloved Wife, Mother, Friend and
Confidant. Elaine Adams passed away in her sleep on July
1st 2021 from a long and difficult battle with cancer. If you
knew Elaine, you knew that first and foremost she
embodied Jehovah's loving kindness. Her faith was
immovable and her love for Jehovah outweighed
everything else in her life. She was loyal to Jehovah from
the moment she was baptized on June 1st, 1965, until her
last breath.
Born on January 26th, 1948, to Howard and Helen Wells,
sister to Richard, Mike, Doris, Tom and Jon. Elaine grew
up in Beardstown, Illinois. After her father passed away
when she was 14 years old, Elaine and her mother Helen
started studying Jehovah's words and gained peace. She
drew strength from Jehovah the "father of tender mercies,
the God of all comfort who comforts us in all of our trials
"(2 Cor 1:3,4).
In the 60's, she met and married the late Lynn Willis
Nelson. Christina Nelson was her first born, and then soon
followed Jeremy Nelson, a year and a half later. 10 years
later Heatherlyn was born. In the mid 80's, after Elaine &Lynn divorced, she was left alone for the first time in her adult life. With a toddler in her arms, and her older childrenmoving on with their lives, she began her new life as a singleparent. Elaine, the survivor, took what little money she hadto grow her cleaning business and clientele and would go
on to run her company for 20+ years.
After her divorce, she later fell in love with her best friend,
Chris Adams. They were married on October 14 1988.
During this time, Elaine had Christopher Adams II, her
youngest child. She then later became a regular pioneer for
several years.
Elaine & Chris would go on to spend over three decades
together, bonded by their mutual love & respect for
Jehovah, spending time with friends & family, traveling, and
going on adventures. Chris stood by her side throughout her battle with cancer, did everything in his power to keep Elaine healthy, loved,
and safe. In her final moments, she was accompanied at
home by Chris, her devoted husband, her youngest son
Christopher, and a couple of her life-long loving friends,
were there by her side.
Elaine (Wells) Adams, a beauty inside & out, was highly
respected & loved in her community, she was loving, loyal
to her faith, joyous, corny yet hip, eager to laugh, lover of
all animals, especially her kitties, energetic, optimistic,
and the cleanest person you will probably ever meet.
People have always been drawn to her, and she was so
kind and accepting, and eager to teach people about
Jehovah. Please remember how hard she could laugh and
how happy she was when she was in her congregation.
Her love for Jehovah is unforgettable. She has
"fought the fine fight, and has ran the race to the finish" (2 Tim 4:7).
Her assurance was in the words found at John 5:28, 29
that will be fulfilled along with Rev 21:4 in which the
promise of sickness, death and pain being no more, will
be a reality. And there will be a resurrection!
Elaine's family would like to thank you for your emotional
and loving support during this extremely difficult time. Thank
you to all the friends & family for providing meals, and extra
hands during Elaine's treatments, and while she was on
hospice. The love and compassion you showed for our sister,
mother, wife, and friend is beyond what we could've ever imagined.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
SEE YOURSELF WHEN ALL IS NEW
Just see yourself, just see me too
Just see us all in a world that is new.
Think how you
'll feel, how it will be,
To live in peace, to be truly free.
No evil one will then prevail
Rule by our God cannot ever fail.
The time will have come for a new earthly start,
The song of our praises
will pour out from our heart:
We thank you, our God, for all you have done.
All things are new by the rule of your Son.
The fullness of our heart overflows in our song;
All glory and honor and praise to you belong
Now see yourself, and see me too;
And look ahead to a world that is new.
No sight we see, no sound we hear
Will cause alarm or give rise to fear.
All has come true, just as he said;
Now over mankind, his tent is spread.
He now will awaken those sleeping in death;
Their voices will join ours with
every grateful breath:
We thank you, our God, for all you have done.
All things are new by the rule of your Son.
The fullness of our heart overflows in our song;
All glory and honor and praise to you belong
LIFE WITHOUT END AT LAST
Can you see with your mind's eye,
Peoples dwelling together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at last!
Life without tears or pain.
Sing out with joy of heart!
You too can have a part.
Live for the day when you'll say,
"Life without end, at last!"
In those days old will grow young,
Flesh revived as in childhood.
Troubles are gone, from now on,
No need to weep or fear.
Sing out with joy of heart!
You too can have a part.
Live for the day when you'll say,
"Life without end, at last!"
Paradise all will enjoy
As we sing of God's glory.
Long as we live, we will give
To God, our Maker, thanks.
Sing out with joy of heart!
You too can have a part.
Live for the day when you'll say,
"Life without end, at last
