Obituary of Juan Luis Carabajal
On Wednesday July 21, 2021, Juan Luis Carabajal "Louie/Luis" passed away in Sylmar, California at the age of 48.
He is survived by his daughter Marisa Elena Carabajal and son Ángelo Giovanni Carabajal of Stafford, Virginia, partner Kelly Alexander of Montrose, California, sister Zenaida Carabajal of Vacaville, California, brothers Anthony and Theodore Carabajal, of Phoenix Arizona, the Armenta, Bustillos, and Carabajal families of Phoenix, Arizona and Vacaville California, and former wife Mary Jeanette DeVito of Stafford, Va. He was predeceased by his father Theodore Pinueles Carabajal Jr, mother Felicitas Buncayao Montero, and brother Frank "Kiko" Carabajal.
Louie/Luis graduated from Brophy College Prep Catholic Jesuit school and attended Arizona State University. Following in his fathers footsteps he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and became an instructor at The Basic School while completing Marine Martial Arts Instructor Training(formerly Close Combat Instructor school ) at Quantico Virginia.
Louie honorably served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (w/ 1 star), Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal(w/ 1 star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (w/ 1 star), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/1 star), and the National Defense Service Medal.
Louie will be deeply missed by all who experienced special moments with him in the many facets of his life and by those who's memories were unrealized because they never had the opportunity to know him.
