Ken, I am deeply saddened to learn of Nancy's passing. Her ready smile, generosity and infectious spirit will always be remembered. Mike and I celebrated our Hawaiian honeymoon with both of you before our wedding (not quite traditional :). My memories of that happy time are intertwined with laughter, beautiful Hawaiian sunsets and of course, great wine. I so remember our very early morning canoe rowing with Nancy and her club. Amazing experience! Nancy and Mike Kunz are probably talking in heaven now, and of course, there is great much kidding and joy.
Please know you and the Benson family are in my prayers.
Hugs,
Jan Coleman-Knight

We are so sorry to hear that Nancy passed away. It was fun to reconnect with Ken and Nancy in Kona . Nancy and I were walking on Ali Drive and were so surprised to see each other. We shared meals at their condo and at the Kona Magic Sands where we stayed every April. My dad, Carl Carlson and Jack were best friends working at the Grotto cement plant. Nancy had a wonderful lunch at her house in Lynnwood for the "Grotto Gals". and her Mom . My sisters, Lindy and Karen and I went and had a wonderful time seeing and visiting the "gals" who had lived at Grotto. We lived in Snohomish but went to Grotto many times..
I am so glad we reconnected and have good memories of our times with Nancy.
Our thoughts are with Ken and all his family .
Love,
Kris Carlson Hyppa and Roger Hyppa

Jeff and I were so sad to hear about Nancy's passing. Nancy and I worked together at Vine, Dahlen, Werner but our friendship continued beyond work life and we loved to get together here and in Kona. Whenever we golfed the Kona Country Club, Nancy would have a cold beer ready for us as we passed the condo! We shared lots of laughs and loved catching up with each other whenever we could. She was smart, caring, funny and always so positive. A great accountant, mother, wine connoisseur, and friend. She will be missed.
Sincere condolences to Ken and family.

Nancy was so much more than a friend. Whenever I was around her she was like a second mom to me. Always accepted me for who I was, never hesitated to tell me exactly what she thought about what I said or did, but always in a kind, loving, direct way. Made me feel like she cared. She had a gift for making people feel wanted, loved, special. She is terrible missed. What great hope we have in Christ, that we will see her again, in eternity. She is Home, with her Lord. My prayers and my tears are with you all, her entire family.
In Christ,

I am so sad to hear of Nancy's passing. What a special woman! I'm sure she has touched many lives as she has mine. I have very fond memories of her as I was frequently at their homes in Lynnwood and at Big Lake with Wendy. Her hospitality, kindness, love, and faith reached out to me during a difficult season in my life. I always appreciated her motherly words of advice too. I still have a difficult time not calling her "Mrs. Benson."
May you rest in peace, Mrs. Benson. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"
To Mr. Benson, Jill, Wendy, Mike, and all other loved ones: I am so sorry for your loss. Please know you are in my prayers. God bless you.

Nancy was a mentor to me when I started public accounting in 1986. Also got to know Ken and the kids as she tirelessly hosted many firm events. Nancy worked 24/7 to balance work and family before it was even a thing. Her results are evident in her accomplished family and professional legacy. Nancy was a tremendous colleague and friend and have missed her daily confident and thoughtful guidance. Thankful Nancy was able to enjoy life after work. Forever grateful for being blessed to know Nancy.

To know Wendy is to have known Wendy's Mom. And when you become a friend of Wendy, you also became a friend of Nancy's, with a shared mission of caring about her daughter. Beyond her deep love for her family, I found Nancy to be energetic, welcoming, knowledgeable, and a little mischievous, with a sense of humor as dry as the wine she enjoyed. She was always interested to know how my family and I were doing and celebrated our successes as if we were part of her own family. We were so saddened to hear of Nancy's passing and we are among the so many that feel so blessed to have known her.

Thank you for informing me about Nancy's passing. I was privileged to work with Nancy while she served as an Audit Manager for the Washington State Auditor's Office under State Auditor Brian Sonntag. She shouldered a Herculean responsibility of overseeing the audit of the University of Washington. She fulfilled that with great skill, dedication and leadership. But more important, she was kind and caring to me and everyone she touched. It made her so special. This is a sad day for me. My heart sank when I saw this today. Nancy and Ken have been so special to me since I was friends with Steve and Mike in high school. I always felt so welcome in their home. I remember bringing my baby daughter to meet Nancy at the Lynnwood house (26 years ago!). She was SO sweet with her and with me. So encouraging and thoughtful. We've kept in touch via holiday letters over the years. I have always looked so forward to receiving them and hearing what all of my favorite Bensons have been up to.
I can only imagine the immense hole losing Nancy will leave. I'm glad she is reunited with Steve, and my heart and hugs go out to Ken, Jill, Wendy, Mike and all the other wonderful people who were lucky enough to know her. Rest in Peace, "Mrs. Benson".

We have known Nancy and her family for over forty years. There were many hours in gymnasiums as the boys wrestled in tournaments, traveling to places like Meridian Idaho and other exotic places for kids club wrestling competitions. Often Nancy, Heather and I would sit together screaming for our guys. The dads standing in groups discussing strategies. Long beautiful days together. Then decades later in retirement Ken and Nancy moved to Ancora Village as neighbors. The past several years reminiscing about those years and our growing families. Yet the time was too short with her. We will miss her humor, laughter and deep conversations. What a strong, lovely woman. With love and prayers for Ken, Mike, Jill, Wendy and all your beloved families.
