Obituary of Richard Jay Luther

Richard Jay Luther passed on December 29, 2021, due to heart complications. Richard was born December 2, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona to Frank and Dalphia Luther. Richard was 72 years of age at the time of his passing. Richard was a resident of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and most recently he had settled in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Richard was 1 of 3 children, survived by his son, Paul Luther, daughter Tammy Sage, and sister Margarate Riddle. Richard had 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Richard was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and a proud service member of the United States Marine Corps, often understated although he was extremely proud of his service years. Richard endured a vast and encompassing career aligned to the automotive aftermarket industry. Genuine Parts Company, NAPA, Prolong Super Lubricants, Royal Purple, and CSK are predominate organizations Richard had affiliation with and drove the depths of his professional career. Richard was a race enthusiast and owned a sports marketing company. Throughout the years Richard could be found supporting, networking, working, and participating at NASCAR, NHRA, and INDYCAR events across the United States. This statement will fail to do justice to the organizations, brands, and events included above although his friendships, partnerships, colleagues, connections, and experiences were vast and lasted several decades. On behalf of his family, please accept our gratitude, as words are unable to depict the depth and attributes of Richard's journey and the individuals who touched his life and those individuals, he had impact toward. Richard was known for his energy, creativity, smile, work ethic, enthusiasm, and personality among several other character traits. Always a conversationist, keen on adventure, and one to share background of life's elements he was most proud of.
