Obituary of Ingrid Kepczyk
May 15, 1939 - January 5, 2023
Ingrid was born in the Calau District of Germany and moved to Berlin where she met Tadeusz M. Kepczyk. They were married in 1960 and had two sons-Thomas and Roman. In 1964 they moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where Tadeusz was stationed. Upon Tadeusz’s passing in Vietnam in 1968, Ingrid relocated to Arizona in 1970.
She worked as a decorator, a realtor, and went to design school, but spent the majority of her career working in high-end jewelry sales in Scottsdale, including E.D. Marshall, Capriccio, and Laykin et Cie at I. Magnin, where she was also a traveling manager. Everyone that met Ingrid recognized her professionalism and how she carried herself with incredible poise, and her own unique style.
Throughout her life she was an avid hiker and traveler and loved the beach, sharing adventures with her children and friends. She absolutely loved to entertain, cooking and hosting many incredible meals. She especially enjoyed going to the theater, not only in Arizona but took trips to London and New York. She was affectionately called “Nona” by her four grandchildren: Alexander, Nicholas, Stephan, and Antoine, as well as her two daughters-in-law, Barbara and Sylvie.
She is already missed by all of us.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life event on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from noon until 3:00 pm at Fleming's in Chandler (905 N. 54th St). Please come and share your memories of Ingrid with us. If you feel so led, please consider making a donation to Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org), who helped Ingrid and us immensely over the last few months.
