Obituary of Kenneth Robert Reed

Kenneth Robert Reed passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at age 79.

Ken was born to Robert Raymond and Martha Grace Reed in 1943 in Rupert, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA where he met his wife Geraldine, whom he married in 1966. They later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Ken earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Arizona State University and went on to work as a technical writer.

Ken loved spending time in the outdoors, whether it was hiking, camping with his family or the countless hours he spent on the golf course, a game he loved enough to have designed and built his own custom clubs and participated in and won numerous amateur tournaments. He had a lifelong passion for jazz, even playing drums as a young man and picking it up again in retirement. Ken was also a voracious reader and was a member of Mensa, a group that was a perfect fit for both his intellect and his wit.

Ken was a loving family man and is survived by his wife Jeri, his son Sean and daughter Heather, as well as by his daughter-in-law Illiana, son-in-law Farron and two grandchildren, Teagan and Wyatte, and his sister Robin Tverdy and brother Richard Reed and his nieces and nephews.
