Obituary of Doris Mae Flannigan

Petite yet mighty entertainer extraordinaire, Doris Flannigan, moved to a new venue in the sky on her 96th birthday May 3rd, 2023.  Doris began her life as the only child of Von and Inez Showman in Newark, Ohio. Her father an automobile enthusiast from the start owned the first automobile in Licking County, Ohio. She briefly worked for a pediatrician prior to her marriage to James B. Flannigan, another sports car lover on July 9th, 1949. Doris discovered her flare for entertaining first using a hot plate to cook Hors D’oeuvres and the bathtub to chill beverages in the small campus apartment at Ohio State University while Jim completed his degrees. Her passion for entertaining continued with grander soirees alongside Jim for decades in Scottsdale, Arizona, whom she lost April 24, 2012, just three months after loosing her only son Michael Flannigan in January. She is survived by her daughter Julia Flannigan and granddaughter Laura Flannigan.
