Obituary of Sylvia M Hernandez

Sylvia M. Hernandez 63, born in Phoenix, AZ to E.V. and Jessie Hernandez, became pain free peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 24, 2014. Sylvia was known by many nicknames but they all refer to the same genuine, generous, thoughtful and totally unselfish person! She was a proud P.U.H. S. Coyote class of '68, the youngest Guadalupana at Immaculate Heart Church, and has worked with Best Western International Hotels for 35 years. To Sylvia, her family was her number one priority. She was the cook. Every Sunday, she brought the family together for brunch after mass. One of her famous lines was, What do you want for your birthday lunch. Sylvia leaves behind her Dad, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters in law, 17 nieces & nephews, 4 great nieces & nephews and 2 on the way. Her place in heaven was prepared by her Mom, 4 grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles and many friends. The celebration of Sylvia's life will take place on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 909 E. Washington St. Phx., AZ, beginning at 9 am with the rosary and comments, 10 am Mass, followed by graveside service at St. Francis Cemetery 2033 N. 48th St. Phx., AZ South Lawn. She leaves a huge hole in our family. We miss her!
