Obituary of Ingrid Gudrun Morrison

My mom, Ingrid Gudrun Morrison, passed away one year ago on October 29, 2022.  She was born on April 4, 1941, to Larry and Martha Martin in Berlin, Germany.  She was raised in Germany.

In 1958, she married and immigrated to the United States.  She lived in Spokane and Seattle Washington, where she became an IBM executive in the late 1960’s.  One of the first women to have a position in business in corporate America.  She was a member of the German clubs and tennis clubs. She had two daughters.  In 1976 she married Larry Wayne Morrison.  They retired in Scottdale, Arizona and were married for 46 years.

Ingrid was the most giving and loving person you would ever meet.  She was always thinking and buying things for people.  She loved cooking extravagantly and entertaining.  Dinners were an all night affair!  She put fine dining to another level.  She often would take me shopping for all the grandkids.  For the holidays, she worked relentlessly, trying to make things extra special for everyone.  She had an infectious laughter and a beautiful smile.  She loved her grandkids, always telling me how talented each one of them were.  I loved hearing the stories.  She had a big heart and love for everyone and was not afraid of a challenge.  She never gave up, even in the hard times.  She was a giver, always helping others.  As a little girl, she would take her famous fruit cakes in the snowy weather and hand deliver them to nursery homes, and people in need.  She had such a caring heart for people, no matter who they were.  She was always going somewhere and giving her little treasures to someone.

She is survived by:  Larry Morrison, her husband of 46 years; 2 daughters; 2 stepsons; 3 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

I was so in awe of the endless enthusiasm and energy she had for life!  I thank her for her life and all the wonderful memories and things she taught me.  I have her in my heart and thoughts where she lives forever!  I love you mom, and miss our talks, and shopping!

Ingrid had an amazing life, full of friends and family.  She had so much courage and fought through all the odds.
