Susann Felger

Obituary of Susann Rose Felger

Felger, Susann Rose, 81, died peacefully at her daughter's/daughter-in-law's home in Phoenix, AZ, after a brief illness, 11 days shy of her 82nd birthday. Family on the other side undoubtedly welcomed her to the Lord's home. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Duemler (Judi Tyler); sons, Steve (Joan) and Scott; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five siblings. Susann was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, IN. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Mary Felger; sister, Kay Felger; first husband, Dave Duemler; and second husband, Chuck League.  In 2018, Susann relocated to Phoenix, AZ, to be near her children. A Purdue nursing school graduate, she worked in gerontology, always working the midnight shift, never regaining the ability to go to bed early. She enjoyed traveling the East Coast with her first husband until her children were born. She loved reading children's books aloud to them. Her daughter remembers this fondly. Susann enjoyed auctions, collecting, going out to eat, and staying up into the early morning hours, often going out then with night-owl friends. In her last years, she showed a fun, mischievous sense of humor, often with a smirk and her twinkling eyes. Susann’s ashes will be interred at Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne. Family will arrange a celebration of life service in the facility where she lived with residents and caregivers who became her "extended family".
