Obituary of Jack Lee Whitfield

Jack Lee Whitfield, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his home in Tempe, AZ. A native of Redlands, California, Jack attended Redlands High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis & Clark College in Oregon, and received his MBA from San Francisco State University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Frankfurt, Germany from 1961-1964. In 1998, he and his wife retired to Laguna Beach where they lived until 2020 when they moved to Arizona to be closer to family.

Jack cherished time spent with those closest to him. During retirement he took up cooking, spending hours preparing and enjoying great meals with family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for tennis, which he enthusiastically played through the age of 80.

Jack suffered from Alzheimer's Disease for many years, but never lost his zest for life and his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally, his beloved daughter Jodi, son-in-law Ted, and grandson Zachary, along with many other family members and friends.

A private celebration of life will be held in Arizona at a later date.

Remembrances in Jack’s name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org, or Hospice of the Valley at hov.org.
